I am using win2003 server/IIS 6/VWD 2005 Express/SQL Express 2005.  I've set up many dnn installs before on this web server with relative ease but now all of a sudden I'm getting this error when doing an install:

The browser opens and the install stops at this point.  Is this an IIS issue?  Please help.  I've worked for months on my skin and modules.  I am ready to launch.

Thanks,

Packrat

HTTP 400 - Bad Request

I am getting the same thing, I have tried source, install and starter kit with no luck. I have also gone so far as to create a full blown IIS website on a development server and configured the site to connect to a DB on the development database server. All I can get is "Page Cannot Be Displayed" or every once in a while I will get redirected to /Install/Install.aspx?mode=none. This is very strange, I had no problems with 4.3.4.  The new version doesnt appear to work at all.

Turn off friendly http error messages in IE, that should show the 'real' error i.e. go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced. Uncheck show friendly HTTP error messages. Once you have done this you should get a more detailed message which will point you to the real problem.

Thanks for the info for IE.  I don't know what the real error was because I tried it 15 minutes later and it installed.  Did another install the next day and got the same behavior.  Now I'm just moving ahead with launching my site.  I will say that I have had no problems with installs over the last year but this one stumped me because my install procedures that have been successful previously, failed in 4.3.5.  I will try a new install  to test, with IE set to give better output on the error, and report back anything I find.
