I installed Dotnetnuke 4.3.5 (source) on my development machine successfully on the first try.  I then uploaded all of the contents of the website subdirectory to a subdirectory on my godaddy.com website.  I modified the web.config with the appropriate sql server settings.  Then I browsed to the subdirectory on my godaddy.com website.

I did this twice.  The first time everything seemed to install successfully except the reports module.  The second time everything except the sql server provider update to version 4.0.1 installed successfully.  The second time non of the desktopmodules ran through their installation.

On both occassions, the home page contained no modules.  The dropdown box for available modules only contained about 4 modules.

I have no idea how to fix this.  I would really appreciate any insight into this problem.

Thanks!

Installation of the modules occurs through a process which results in REMOVING the module installation files once it completes successfully.  There are a lot of reasons why which I won't get into at the moment, other than to say that it facilitates remote installation.  You'll find that in the /Install/Modules directory of the original zip file contains all the module installation files.  But that folder on your install, once completed, is empty... otherwise the app would reinstall them every time it restarted.  Once the module install completes successfully the install file in that folder is deleted.

You can either manually install the modules through the interface, or you can upload them to the /Install/Modules folder and invoke this page: www.domain.com/install/install.aspx?mode=InstallResources ).  This will ask your DNN installation to process whatever is sitting in the /Install/modules or /Install/Skins folders.
