I have been working on tring to install a DNN 4.0 site to try to learn how to redeploy our site and I cant seem to get it.  It is getting quite annoying since I have been working on this for about a month and no dice.  I pride myself on my ability to learn fast and ability to creat webpages.

Here is what I do:

1)unzip the files into a DIR and install the starter kit
2)open IIS and create a virtual drive as an asp.net 2.0 with scripts and executables seleted.  I also make sure that default.aspx is in the list of documents.  I also go throught the permission wizard to decare it as a public website
3)I then have opened the cmd prompt and ran the sqlcmd -S (local)\SQLEXPRESS -E
4)create the database with the user, password, and roles via the cmd line.
5)open up visual studios 2005 and change the release.config to reflect the database and renamre it web.config
6)compile it with 32 success and 1 skipped
7)the browser opens up and goes straight to the dir

Here is where all the good luck wears off.  I have gotten every error from the directory is unbrowsable to the database has a bad connection string, plus many others.  What Am I doing wrong.  This is all on on a very up to date windows xp pro.
