Hi, hope someone can help.

I run a small web hosting business, and one of my customers wants his individual domains to run on DNN. I want to set up DNN using one install, one SQL Server DB, but share it across his different domains, i.e. using DNN parent portals.

I'm not exactly sure how to set this up. The way I see it is either:

Option 1) Setting up a single install of DNN and single DB, shared across multiple domains
Option 2) Setting up individual DNN installations for each domain, but sharing one SQL Server DB

My client basically has his domain names registered with another ISP, and simply sets their DNS settings to point to my  DNS servers. But I'm not sure then how to configure IIS so that the domain gets linked up to the correct DNN portal.

Anyone know the best way to accomplish this stuff?

Many thanks
Gerard

Just add the domains to IIS for the same installation, then add the alias's to the approriate portals on the install, DNN will do the rest.

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by adding the domains to IIS for the same installation. If install DNN in one of the domains (say Domain 'A'), how do I configure IIS so that web requests for the other domains get sent through to DNN in domain 'A'. Or am I seeing this wrong? Could you please give me an example of what you mean?

Thanks.
