it's not the config, i've just removed the whole file and it still throws the error, it says name "config" is not declared....
and it comes from here  C:\DNN\Website\App_Code\Global.asax.vb

Please remember i'm new and i know nothing about config files.....

cheers

i only removed the config as a process of elimination,,, i got the same error when i removed it, so i know the error is being thrown before that (i put it back by the way) it's being thrown by the Global.ascx..

Dim AutoUpgrade As Boolean
            If Config.GetSetting("AutoUpgrade") Is Nothing Then
                AutoUpgrade = True

it's being thrown at this area... it's says that "config" needs to be declared....

i've been running RainbowPortal, but i'm having problems with the Forum Module... and i thought that DOtnetnuke would be more user friendly.. but i can't even get it installed...

i've also tried earlier versions of this and they throw errors, i've tried .NET 2 and 1.1 but to no evail. and it's also running on my local system, i want to build a site before i upload it to a host..
