Hello,

I attempted to upgrade my 3.2.2 site to 3.3.5 yesterday and blew away my site in the process. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit but my site is down. Here's what happens:

Version: 03.03.05

Installation Status Report
00: - Installing Version: 3.1.0
00: - Installing Script: DotNetNuke.SetUp.SqlDataProvider Success
00:00:00.140 - Installing Script: DotNetNuke.Schema.SqlDataProvider Error! (seeC:\...\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\DotNetNuke.Schema.log for more information)
00:00:09.265 - Installing Script: DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider Error! (seeC:\...Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\DotNetNuke.Data.log for more information)
00:00:10.140 - Installing MemberRole Provider:
00:00:10.140 - Executing InstallCommon.sql
00:00:12.140 - Executing InstallMembership.sql
00:00:13.999 - Executing InstallProfile.sql
00:00:14.453 - Executing InstallRoles.sql

The errors in the first two scripts seem to indicate simply that the changes have already been made and as you can see the framework ignores them. What does the second error indicate? Some kind of mismatch? I downloaded the upgrade .zip, uploaded and extracted it over my existing code. That should upgrade the code at the same time as the upgrade scripts, right?

I'm about a day away from rebuilding my site from scratch but I'd prefer to salvage it.

thanks for any help you can provide. I notice there are quite a few unanswered upgrade/install posts. I hope this doesn't mean people have given up on DNN. When it works it's a great portal. On the other hand it's so darn complex that it's about impossible to figure out what's going on under the hood.

Well, it appears the problem was that I uploaded the .zip file and had the hsphere webshell uncompress it. It probably didn't do all files. I uncompressed on my home system and ftp'ed all files over. I could then start fresh. So my site was blown away in the meantime.

This wasn't DNNs fault but I'm not risking another upgrade any time soon. The old 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' is good advise.
