I am having problems setting up my SMTP mail server within the host settings of DNN 4.3.5. No matter what smtp mail server I am using, I continue to get the message, " Failure sending mail. " everytime I test it. I am currently hosting with godaddy.com for my DNN site. I have had a few problems in the past with godaddy concerning DNN configurations. But, I am not too sure whether this is because of them or not. When I used DNN before, I used version 3.2.2 and it was also on godaddy's server. When I used 3.2.2, I had no problems when receiving email notifications. As a matter of fact, I don't think that I even set the SMTP server settings... I am not sure whether or not this was in the installation of DNN 3.2.2. that I installed myself or if it was the installation that godaddy installed for me... The current version of DNN 4.3.5 that I am running was installed by godaddy as an addon of one of their windows hosting packages... I am at the end of my rope and I desperatly need to be able to recieve email notifications with the module I am using to have my site run as it should... Can anyone help me?

I am also a GoDaddy DNN 4.3.5 user...ran into the same problem.

Here's what worked for me:

SMTP Server:  smtpout.secureserver.net  (that's the one used by GoDaddy shared hosting FREE email accounts)

SMTP Authentication:  Set it to BASIC

SMTP Username:  Give it a valid username such as MyName@MyCompany.com (that has already been setup at GoDaddy)

SMTP Password:  Give the pw that works with the SMTP username above.

I am having problems as well with the same type of issue.  I jumped to DNN 4.3.6 and was on 3.2.2 before and didn't have any problems.   Anyone have any ideas?

I tried this, and got the error:

Mailbox name not allowed. The server response was: Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts.

I am using DNN 4.3.6 - has anyone got it working on a godaddy shared hosted FREE email acounts.

Please advise.  Much appreciated.
