Dear all,

I have been having problems with some modules that keep bring up a similar error to the one below, no matter what the module, they have a common theme SQL Server does not allow remote connections.

DNN is on a SQL Express installation and I am running ver 4.3.5.

Any Help would be very Grateful.

Ken Sherwood

Hi,

use 'SQL Server Surface Area Configuration' to enable the remote connection.

I've got the same problem on one of my installs and with some of the modules.  Announcement and Text/HTML work fine but Iframe and some third party modules don't. Anyone know what the problem is ?

Thanks in advance

Leif

please make sure, that both connection strings in web.config are identical.

I read about a possible fix for the SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26  here. I have problems with this on my Win2000server but none on XPPro.

I didn't try that fix by the way, don't have the guts to cause even more trouble.
