I have the following environment

Windows 2003 SP1 with SQL2000 running .Net 2.0 I have been trying to follow the instructions laid out but I always get the same error Object Reference error.

I have the content loaded to d:\sitename.

I have created the database manually as the instructions state.

I have set the site to use .net 2.0 framework.

I have editec the web.config

And still get the same stinking error.

There is no information in the documents that help me figure out what is wrong any help would be appreciated.

Hi Tom,

I know the frustration you are experiencing but I have found DNN is really good and the forums are usually very helpful if you can give them enough info to get their teeth into. Can you post any Log Error messages? I am no expert but I am sure if you can provide more details the forums will be able to assist.

Login as Admin and go to Log Viewer.

Cheers, John

John

What permissions does the NETWORK SERVICE account have on d:\sitename? If it's an internal site, is the host header of the site correct in IIS and pointing to the correct server in DNS? Finally, is there a default.aspx loaded as a default page? Sounds like the install is finishing, you just can't browse after that. No?
