Which version of DNN are you using?

Do you see all of the default objects on the home page?

Mitch,

Thanks for replying, I'm in the middle of an upgrade, so the install was 3.2.2. It's happening only on the machine with the application - if I access it from another machine on the LAN, it's fine. Strange, but I'm able to keep working. It's a little unusual because it's an intranet application and I have to work on XP while I'm testing the process.

My main goal is to get a portal moved somehow from this level to 4.x current version, including as much of the data as possible. I'm trying to use the portal export, but it's a real fight with portal IDs being off on all links.

My thought with the postback on the login failing is something involving security on IE 6, see it all the time with bugs related to which zone it thinks an intranet host is in. Could it be a cookie or ActiveX scripting? I am learning about the viewstate, how I think that is in the cookie, but I haven't had time to delve into it. I've been tinkering with whether the site is the IIS root or a virtual, and what the host headers are, but haven't been able to get the login to budge using http://mymachine or http://mymachine/virtual. My ASPNET host account is not locked out, I checked the database and it's working from another machine.

Recycling IIS and removing cookies does not seem to help. It's not a crisis, but I wanted to post some more data points in case someone might spot a trend.

Perhaps it was an IE problem - rebooting seems to fix this. If it happens again, I'll report back. Thanks.
