I know I'm probably missing something really basic here, but I can only get to my test installation of DNN from the server it is installed on.

I installed the package on a machined named dev-app2, with the SQL database on dev-app1 (I didn't name them...don't look at me!) and everything works fine if I browse to http://localhost/dotnetnuke on dev-app2.  When I go to another machine in the network and use http://dev-app2/dotnetnuke I get a 301 error on GET /dotnetnuke and a 302 error on /dotnetnuke/default.aspx.

IIS is 6.0 on Windows Server 2003.  Tried IE 6 and 7, no difference.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

In case anyone else runs into this, the problem was with the portal alias.

When I first logged into the new site, it was from the browser on the server itself.  The portal alias assigned was "localhost/DotNetNuke".  Adding "dev-app2/DotNetNuke" and re-starting the web server fixed everything.

Why did you have to restart the web server? And what is the DNN restart application feature?

Thanks, Dave
