I have a working portal on my desktop PC running under 4.3.7 and have another (empty) portal running on a hosting service server, also 4.3.7.

I saved a template from the desktop, which was where the portal was developed, but when I imported it into the remote portal (with the overwrite option checked), I got the navigation bar but none of the content on any of the pages.

Casual inspection with notepad suggests that all the content is in the template, it is just not being brought into the remote site. What am I doing wrong?

I  have a similar problem when using a page template across sites.
My name.page.templsate file looks OK and loads the page and skin but no content.
Modules revisions are the same.
I am going to try adding some simple stuff to a copy of the default.page.template (when I get some time).

Best wishes
Ian

Thanks for the reply but I have now cracked it.

The solution, should anypne else find themselves puzzled, is that the remote installation did not, for some reason have the full range of modules. Once the modules were installed the material came over successfully.
