in general: no, because those issues are the responsibility of the respective project teams. In the case of Discussions: that module has been dropped all together, and it will not return as dnn core module. If you need a discussion type of module, you should use the forums module

discussions is obsolete, it was dropped from dnn already in 4.3.x, because of severe security issues.{...}
Feedback also has a severe security issue and was dropped from the distribution because of this, events also has issues and was also dropped.{...}

What are the security issues, to know if we can live with it or not... Are there other modules to be aware of, which have security issues ??? I was suprised to read this, it should be clearly indicated in the corresponding project page.

as i said, discussions is dropped altogether, so it has no project page (never had one even). The security issue was that all users could edit all posts from all posters in the module

the issue with the current feedback module is that entries are not portal specific, so entries made in one portal are visible in all other portals

Events has no security issues AFAIK, just visit the events module forum to find out about all issues. AFAIK it was decided that modules that don't live up to the standards of the core application will not be included in the distribution anymore. You can still download them from the respective project pages though

Ok, thanks.

So, for Feedback module, there is no "big or serious security issue" (I mean no hacking or anything like that possible if we have this module installed and used). It is just related to the fact that entries are visible in all portal, that's all. Ok, for me it is not such a big problem. Just answer if this description is not correct (it will save your time ;-) )

the term "security issue" means more than just "open for hacking". It als means that users can edit other user's data while they shouldn't, or that portals have acces to data while they shouldn't
