I tried downloading the documents for 4.4.0 , but the extract file is versioned 4.0.3 and the contents are dated november 2005.

What is going on?

there seems to be the wrong zip referenced, please use documentation for DNN 4.3.7

Hi leupold

When I try to extract these I get version 4.3.1 .... which doesn't tell me how to install the database

there has not been general changes in setup since 4.3.1, therefore you can refer to this manual for installation. There are different database setups for file based access in SQL Express and "professional" setup in SQL 2000/2005. In the first case, make sure, not to touch the database by any other tool (or refer to the latest post in Shaun Mehaffie's blog here on DNN.com), in the other case create a database and permit create/delete/edit rights for the user, you specify in web.config.
