Hi,

As per my previous tread : www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/107/threadid/93697/scope/posts/Default.aspx I was having a problem installing fresh versions of 4.4.0 (both source and install).

Although a helpful response to the above post suggested that I make sure I edited the web.config file with accuracy I knew that this was not the issue as I followed the same behaviour for hundreds of installs.

I decided to open up the source and follow it through in debug mode to see what I could find.

Heres a summary of what I found (my description maybe vague or incorrect but it is the problem):

The code ran as far as the resourceinstaller.vb and it stopped when it tried to access one of the resource files in the Install\Module folder. i.e. Announcements_03.03.05_Install.resources

I stopped the debugged install.  Recreated the install folder, deleted all the resource file from the Install\Module folder. Left the Html and Links modules.

Voila...  It worked perfectly...

I knew it wasn't anything to do with the web.config from editing it.

Hope this helps others...

Colin
