L.S.,

Compared to DNN's own list of preconfigured modules I have a limited list of modules.
I've installed DNN 4.4.0, installed the sources and the following modules are available: 1) Account Login, 2) Banners, 3) Search Input, 4) Search Results and 5) User Accounts.

Everybody on the internet is referring to this initial list of already installed modules, so I was wondering why I can only see a limited amount of modules.

Thanks in advance for the respons.

Kind regards,
Jos Walrave

I believe the module list has been trimmed for 4.4 installs, to reduce download size, and overhead for installations that don't require all the modules to be installed everytime. You can download all the "Core" modules for free from DotNetNuke.com

Every time a module is "installed" it puts its assembly into the \bin directory.  When the site first gets loaded, ASP.Net loads all assemblies in \bin into memory.  Previous installations installed every module including forums and store, which slowed the initial installation, slowed the application startup time, increased the db footprint and consumed memory for the site - even if the module is never used anywhere on the site.  Very few sites use all of the modules, yet they were all paying a price in performance due to our default install.

In 4.4 we decided it would be better to only install those modules needed for displaying our initial landing page, and then provide a convenient method for you to install other modules which are included in the package, but which are not actually fully installed.

I already figured this out. I logged in as host and selected the modules definitions. In this section I selected the additional modules and installed them all at ones.

Anyways, many thanks for the responses.
