Hi at all,
sorry if my post is similar to other post, but I have read all post with this question, but nothing that explain my question.

My question is:
I have a domain, www.mydomain.com, and I want to make a new istance, different by www.mydomain.com and like www.myotherdomain.com that point a dnn installation, but i don't have some sql server, then I need an unique dnn installation with child portals, it's ok to create, but when I point it with www.myotherdomain.com, the url become www.mydomain.com/default.aspx?alias=www.mydomain.com/child1, and it isnt the solution that i want, then I modified the siteurls.config to make a new urlrewrite like this
    <RewriterRule>
        <LookFor>http://www.myotherdomain.com</LookFor>
        <SendTo>~/Default.aspx?alias=www.mydomain.com/child1</SendTo>
    </RewriterRule>
but also this solution don't work (probably I wrong some info in friendlyurls?).
I tried then with parent portal instead child portal, the dns of my 2 domain point on my hosting server, and when I click to Update (or Add now not remember :)) in create portal, I get an error, because don't find the page.

Can any explain me how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance,
Simone Sanfilippo

if you create a parent domain, not only the dns record must point to your ip adress, but also, IIS must be configured to handle the domain

Uhm, then I must configure the iis that point www.myotherdomain.com into the folder of my dnn installation?

Hi,
thanks for reply to my post.
Then I must configure iis and perform that if the url is www.mydomain.com or www.myotherdomain.com point in same folder? And later make a parent portal?
But this two domain must having two different contents, its correct the parent solution?
Best Regards,
Simone
