Well, sad to say I am very disappointed to find out that DNN 4.4.1 doesn't allow me to create subportals.

When using the create portal function in "Portals" page from Host menu, it says : "Error creating Portal". Unfortunately, I couldn't find any error log for this problem anywhere.

Switching to a 3rd party module (Onyak Portal Signup), it says : "Your user account can not be created. Please check....". At that time, my site's registration is working fine in "public" mode.

Any ideas about this? (I was testing on localhost with pure installation)

please have a look intot the DNN event log if there is a more detailed description of the error. Make sure, the virtual DNN user (ASPNET or Network Service) has create file & folder permissions for the top level of your DNN installation directory in file system.

Sorry not to mention more details.

When I said I couldn't find the error log anywhere, I meant there's nothing in the Log Viewer. And the folders and files permission is also checked. This is quite irony, for DNN 4.4.0 worked fine in this computer.

*Edited* : Sorry, I had a mistake with my DNN assembly version.

I think that this is fixed in the upcoming 4.5
