Some of the users of one of our DNN sites are having trouble uploading files.  Randomly they will login, upload the file, attach a link to the file (usually pdfs), and try to visit it.  When they click on the link it tells them that ADOBE, or whatever program associated with the file they uploaded, could not open the file.  When I log on to the server and look at the file it will show with a file size of 0.  When I have them try again it will work fine.

I think the problem is associated with the machines they are using.  They are both on laptops that are running rather slow due to having a lot of applications running.  My assumption is that it is some kind of a timeout or something, but I thought I would ask the DNN guru's if anyone else has seen this.

Both Notebooks are running Windows XP and are on the same network as other machines working without issues.

EDIT: Just so we are clear, there are no time out messages, it's just a hunch based on the fact the process completes without any actual content in the files and because it doesn't happen all the time.

Just in case anyone else runs across this problem, I think I have figured some of it out.
This problem does not seem to cause the same problem in our 4.x sites.  It is only a problem with one of the 3.x sites and only seems to happen to files that are over 200k.  When I created a word doc and filled it with text to make it 150k, uploaded it, it worked fine.  When I filled it with a couple more pages and got it up to around 250k it uploaded fine, but when I try to access the file it is corrupted.  This happened when I tested it with a bmp, doc, and pdf.  I checked the web config for the max file size, but it is still set well above 200k.
Since I'm not sure what's going on and this site is used daily by a number of users to post news and documents, I am just going to point an FTP account to the content folder so that I can work around the problem.  It seems to work fine if you upload the file directly copying to the server, or FTP to the folder and using sync folder.
If you guys have any ideas please share.
