I am trying to accomplish something that I see on many sites but I am not sure how to go about it in DNN.  After a module title (aligned left) I would like a "more" link (more info-more news-more events, etc.) that would take the user to a specific page within the site.

School News (Module Title)        More»  (link to anywhere)

Don't quit reading yet! I know you can hardcore links into skins and containers but this method in my experience causes the creation of more skins and containers.  Once the link is hardcoded into the skin/container ascx file, that skin or container becomes "specific." I also could use the html module -no title- and create my own heading and link with syles. I would rather just use the module title setting in DNN , not the container or skin, and somehow for that instance of the module, create a link aligned right of it. Of course, I would also want to be able to style this link.  This may be more of a feature request at this time. I did my due diligence and searched the forums, but it seems most folks have used one of the aformentioned methods.  Have I missed another way?  Any clarification or alternative method would be appreciated.

Paul

And all the link have to go to that same page? Or what will the target of the links be..?

Yes...in a nutshell. No matter where the link goes it would be specific to that module's title setting instance. I want to make it clear though that I have already been able to accomplish this through a few different methods I mentioned before, but 2 methods generate more skins or containers and the 3rd method (html module) forces me either to not display the container or display the container with no text in the title section which sometimes creates alignment issues that have to be solved with more css. I want to take advantage of what's already there - a module title setting.  I think I'm asking for an additional link to feature in the module title section that is core to DNN and not dependent on 3rd party modules building the feature in.  I know there are many feature request and this is low on the pole, but this little thing in my mind raises questions about the DNN skins/containers paradigm in general.  I would think we would want to minimize the # of skins and module containers (translated more code) needed to build a site, especially a site with 100+ pages. But the more I try to accomplish what's "out there", the more skins/containers I seem to build and the more css I generate per skin per module. All that said, the html module seems to be the best method out of the 3 for now, but it still limits or at least makes inefficient, the use of a skin/portal css entry for module titles.  I now will have to have a css class for modules that use the default module title setting feature, ones where I did not desire a link aligned to the right,  and another css class for my own module titles  with a link to the right that I created within the html module.  The question remains - Is there a better method. Has anyone accomplished this in another way?

I am not sure about adding it to the title, but you should be able to have the "read more..." in the text area by using the "Announcements" module.

You can see an example and details in the Online Help > Modules > Standard Modules > Announcements > Introduction To The Announcements Module

Hope that helps,
