Hi I just want to ask how to dynamically redirect to a page after login ?
Just like how this website is working. You are redirected to the page you were browsing.
I'm using 4.3.5 and I see dotnetnuke has an option for "redirect after login" but that seems to be a fixed page.

Please Help ! Thanks !!!

I actually thought this was the default behaviour - if you browse to a page whilst logged out you should see that URL being passed to the Login page as a variable - it chops off the querystring vars which is a pity, but it should redirect to the page you were going to after log in...

Hi Thanks. You were right.
The actual problem is I'm trying to redirect back to a control page within a module.
So the url format is something like tabid/234/ctl/ctlName/mid345/someId/123
Like you said it gets chopped off and doesn't work properly.
It's a very frustrating thing when you navigate deep in the control pages and decide to login then you are suddenly kicked back to the root.
So is there a way to get around this ?
Thanks in advance

I'm afraid not - I raised this in Gemini about 1.5 years ago as it is the cause of a lot of my support issues (users say the page falls over after they log in as all my modules pass querystring params around).

I suggested that the vars be preserved and "passed through" the log in page - I actually thought I had read that this was fixed in 4.4.0 but still no joy...

If I can find the Gemini issue again perhaps we can do some petitioning - I think it is a 1hour fix...

Sorry, could not find the Gemini issue..

Interestingly, I think it was the 4.3.0 release that had this in it:

Preserve Login Parameters
- when a user is directed to the login screen, the system retains the original url ( with parameters ) so that it can redirect back after successful login ( especially useful in nested module UIs like Forum )

but the paramaters are not preserved... does anyone know more about this?
