So I've been thinking of the best way to do this within a DNN environment...Any thoughts or comments are welcome.

I'm creating several graphics (like advertising buttons, banners, etc.) but I'm trying to figure out the best way to have them to be linked to from other external sites.  Ideally I would like to be able to mange the files through DNN and have them available thought out the various different options (i.e. the text editor, or various other modules) which is easy enough to do (create a directory with in file manager, upload files, etc) which does work, but when linking from an external source, it makes the path quite deep (i.e. www.anysite.com/portal/0/bannerimg/banner001.jpg)

Ideally I would like to get it down to a path closer to www.anysite.com/bannerimg/banner001.jpg or even www.anysite.com/banner001.jpg

I've thought about creating a subdomain that would create something like this bannerimg.anysite.com/banner001.jpg but doing this, it brings the files out of the scope of DNN in regards to it's file manager and associated conveniences it creates..

The other thing I've thought is to create a virtual directory (called bannerimg) that points to www.anysite/portals/0/bannerimg. This way I can get the more "friendly" URLs, yet still maintain the convenience of the DDN file manager.  I have yet to try this, but in my mind I think it would work.  Does anyone have any comments or see why this wouldn't work?

Any thoughts anyone might have would be great.
Cheers,
Greg
