Hi,

We have an application whose presentation layer is built on DNN, which has the following characteristics
1) Is a transactional application delivered to different portals with different skins ( and some differences in UI layer )
2) Modification of content is not done in production (these are done in an internal development envioronment  and released to production on a monthly basis )
3) Is deployed on a web farm of currently 4 servers

We are having performance issues around the caching feature with the database running for long periods at over 90% cpu utilisation . We have set the application to run in web farm mode, and then set the configuration to use BroadcastPollingCachingProvider and the polling service runs every 30 seconds to remove items from the cache.

We would like confirmation
1) Can we switch off the polling service as there is no "in production" update of cachable data ?
2) Should we disable web farm configuration option  given that we really don't use any CMS features ?
