Hello.

I have problem with DNN.

My Users Authentication is set to Verified, So users should get an email for verification code.

My SMTP configuration is OK, and a test mail is sent.

But, I don't understand why, when users register, despite it saying that a message was sent, no message is sent to the users.

What is wrong with my DNN?

test SMTP server only sends a test mail to the host user - if you don't get it, there is an issue with SMTP configuration. Besides you need to make sure, that the SMTP server is delivering mails to any other recipients, without domain limitiations.

Hi,

I'm also experiencing this problem on a DNN 4.4.1 clean install. The SMTP test email arrives as well as the New user registration  However the emal containg the verification code is not being sent.

You also might want to check for spam filters catching these e-mails as I know mine have occasionally been captured by spam filters.

Thanks for your reply Michael,

My host informed me that I needed to set authentication to "Basic" and to enter a valid email including the password as well .and it fixed it. I've got older installs that work fine without  this so it's probably new since DNN 4.
