I have been designing using many PNG images and have come across and interesting problem.
On my PC which uses Internet Explorer 7 the PNG images are seamless BUT
when viewing from a PC with IE 6, there are ugly grey boxes around the PNGs. Is this something that can be changed in the DNN installation settings or is this a strictly browser related setting?

Thank in advance

That type of option is most likely a browser specfic things as I am not aware of what it could be in DNN that would cause the issue.

you will also want to make sure that you are setting the width and height of the image

Mark,

That's been a problem with IE browsers version < v7, and well documented on the net.  Do a google and you can find many references to the issue.  This is not a DNN issue at all.  Some 'fixes' suggest that user just go ahead an upgrade to IE7 which offers some support improvements.  Not much of a fix, but then - there it is.  Never the best of worlds trying to support all browsers and versions of them.

Anyway, good luck,

iwonder

The Repository module includes a javascript function that provides a work-around and results in transparent PNGs working properly in IE6. In the /DesktopModules/Repository/js folder you'll see a pngfix.js file. Just including that .js file on your page will result in transparent PNGs in IE6.

This sound like it will work but when you say "just include this js on your page and it will fix the problem"
How/where do I enclude this? in the skin file or in a module?
