How do I move the database to a new server and bring the Portal back online with out any issues?

Is there anything that I have to do in the web.config  after I move the database files to the new serever and attach them?

Current Configuration:
PortalBox1 --> IIS6.0 and SQL 2005 on the same server.

New Configuration:
Webbox1 --> Web server IIS 6.0 With Static IP. (Managed by Network services)

Databox1 --> SQL 2005 Server With Static IP(Managed by service Domain Account)

You should just need to setup the connectionstrings properly and then you'll be able to point to whatever database you can access from that web server.

Thanks for the info.

How do you create the trusted connection between the Portal and the Database server.  If you are not using SA to connect.  Is there a trick to setting this up.

Hi tkdev,
You should change webconfig strings according to your new SQLServer configuration. I'm not sure but i guess you may need to configure Surface Area at SQL Server 2005 (but im not sure) I better watch this topic for correct answer :)
