I stumbled upon this website:

http://webcontrols.dotnetnuke.com/DNNTree.aspx

Is this the same tree menu that ships with DNN 4.x? Because it looks a lot more polished than what came with my DNN installation. The website appears to be affiliated with DotNetNuke. Is this new in 4.5 or something? Is this easy to install? Recommended? Does it degrade automatically for GoogleBot and other search crawler bots?

Also, in general, if not DNNTree, what is the best tree nav for DNN? ...is it the standard? ...or this DNNTree? ...or a third-party module?

Please advise, and thanks in advance.

This is the same control that comes with DNN.  This site shows the DNN control suite completely stand-alone from DNN.

Rendering of the controls is handled by the clientapicaps.config file.  If it doesn't recognize googlebot, then simply add the appropriate XML entry.

But the default tree control with DNN looks very different than the one at this URI:

http://webcontrols.dotnetnuke.com/DNNTree.aspx

The one at the URI looks a lot fancier. For example, when I click a link in the tree, I don't get an annoying dotted line around the entire control like I do with the default DNN tree control included with my DNN installation. Also, in my default tree control in my default DNN installation, if I click a folder with a plus symbol, it doesn't expand unless I click the tiny little plus symbol, whereas the example at the URI above *DOES* allow me to click link itself, not just the plus symbol.

How do I configure my tree control so that it behaves exactly like the URI above? I love that implementation.

Thanks,
John
