I am new to the DNN world and so far am very much impressed with the universe of options available to .NET developers using this platform.  One area for which I have not found a lot of information (perhaps not looking in the right place) is that of web site promotion - moving a web site from development to testing to production.  As DNN relies heavily on its database to manage Tabs (pages) and Modules that live on Tabs, how does one properly promote Tab and Module changes made in a development environment to a testing environment for validation?  Do you need to sychnronize the database tables manually (or using some tool like SQL Data Compare)?  That seems risky due to the intermingled data actually entered by testers.  Obviously, this data issue is compounded when moving test to production.  Another related question - how do you properly promote custom Modules?  Do you need to install these modules on each environment and configure Tabs manually to consume these Modules?  Essentially, I'm really looking for some best practices with regards to DNN custom Module development and promotion as it pertains to the use of DNN as a web application development framework, not just a portal hosting platform.

Thanks!

Brian
