I'm a new user (obviously) and have installed DNN at GoDaddy from their control panel.  Got it all set up and it works great, but I wanted users to be able to have avatars.  The Gallery Integration section, however, is greyed out.  After searching all over these forums, I've gathered that Gallery is an additional "project" that has to be downloaded and installed in order for this section to work.  Could be wrong there.

After more looking around, I found the Gallery download, downloaded, and unzipped it.  Of course it was all the source files.  I then figured (assumed) I just have to upload these files to the correct DNN folder on the site.  GoDaddy apparently uses virtual folders for DNN, because I can't find any folder on my site that DNN would be installed in.

After a week I'm about to give up.  Am I pretty much just lost in the dark here and left without options, or is there something I can do to get avatars and smileys working on the site?  Thanks for any help or advice you may be able to offer to the lost new guy...

From the Host menu, choose Module definitions. At the bottom of that page, select Upload new module. Fint the zipped file on your computer, choose Add, then Upload. If you get error messages when it's installed, just do it once more.

@Ymerpot: I appreciate the response, thought at first that was the one thing I missed looking at.  However, though I'm sure it's attributable to my being new at DNN, I can't seem to find the Host menu or Module Definitions.

I've added and deleted modules through the "Add New Module" / "Add Existing Module" block at the top of the admin page, but that list doesn't contain Gallery.  I just haven't seen or can't find the Host Menu page.

TerryL,

You have to log in as host to see the host settings / module definition page.  BUT You have the wrong version of the Gallery Module.  Get version 3.00.11 Gallery module the INSTALL version.  The Source version isn't what you want.  It's all source code and ment to be used from inside visual studio if you were going to change or customize the module in any way.

IntHus and Terryl,

One you have the gallery module installed you might need to refresh the cache but probably not.  Log out as host and back in as admin then go to the fourms / module options / forum administration / Gallery and emoticons section.  From there just click on use wizard.
