I had the same problem a while back and it turned out to be a problem with the tooltips module from bizobjects not allowing a folder synch. They released a patch for it. This probably isnt your problem but it took me a week to find the problem myself so maybe this will help someone.

Actually i have no 3rd party module for compression and i did synchronize with recursive box check, just the "+" sign changed to "-" and nothing happens.
But i have tooltip module, how can i fine the patch??

i reinstalled  the tooltip module from snowcovered and the problem is solved!:)
