Found this link within the forums:

DotNetNuke 4.0.0 Starter Kit and Templates...
http://forums.asp.net/p/937685/1114393.aspx#1114393

I'm using the following on this PC:

- Microsoft Windows XP (Operating System)

- Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005 Express

- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express

Adding the Web Site and Adding a Database steps seemed to work BUT...

1. Rename release.config to web.config doesn't work since there is a web.config file already!

2. Inetpub\wwwroot\DotNetNukeProject Sharing setup doesn't show the Security Tab since I'm using Windows XP!

So where do I go from here to finish creating the project???

Anyone have any helpful hints to get me on the way to my first successful install and deployment using my existing configuration?

You can remove the existing web.config file that is in the zip.

To get the security tab, under View -> Folder Options -> View Options  Uncheck the box that says "Use Simple Filesharing"

I have a full tutorial that goes through all of this on my website http://www.mitchelsellers.com

Mitchel:

Had to search to find this link on your site:
http://www.mitchelsellers.com/Blogs/tabid/54/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/28/Default.aspx

At least it got us to get to the installation wizard...

Thanks for the helpful information.

Note the Spelling error on "available" on the install wizard:

---

Install Optional Skins and Containers

DotNetNuke has a rich skinning capability. On this page you can choose the optional Skins and Containers to install.

Installing a Skin and/or container does not automatically enable it, but it makes the skin availalble to you.

---

*** "availalble" should be "available"! ***
