Hello!

I was hoping that someone could tell me where I'm going wrong here:

I have a local Windows Server 2003 Enterprise box, configured with SQL2005 (I went through the setup instructions at: http://www.dnncreative.com/tabid/289/Default.aspx?PageContentID=122)... TWICE!

I was very careful about setting permissions and configuring the DB correctly, I even made sure that the default "DotNetNuke_2" name was kept, for fear of making unnecessary changes to the web.config file.  IIS is loaded correctly and I have .NET 2.0 (actually upgraded to 3.0 - but 2.0 is what's referenced in the virtual site).  With SQL2005, I ensured that the login was SQL-based (made a new ID+PW), I also double-checked that the NETWORK SERVICE security was set on the directory and all below: "C:\DotNetNuke_2"

Here is what gets returned when running "http://localhost/DotNetNuke_2/":

The type initializer for 'DotNetNuke.Data.DataProvider' threw an exception.

The version is 04.05.01

I'm REALLY looking forward to gaining control of my own website and doing my own marketing (soup to nuts)... can someone tell me where I'm going wrong here?

Thanks!!!!

Rob

Are you using SQL 2005 or 2005 Express?  If you are using SQL 2005 then you need to edit the web.config because I believe it defaults to 2005 Express.  You need to comment out the Express lines and uncomment the 2000/2005 server lines and add in the appropriate info in the connection string.
