Hello,

Does any one knows of a module or a technique (programing is OK) that would leverage the new DNN Google Sitemap feature to generate a human freindly site map that could be displayed to the site's visitor.

Here is what I envision:

The process would take the XML from the sitemap.aspx file as a source and would go to the various page collect the description from the header meta tag and would display and indented tree like this:

Page1
Description of page 1
      SubpageA
       Description of sub page A
Page2
Description of page 2

Etc.

This type of tree would have the double adventage to improve SEO, would be self maintained, would respect security and would place any page of the site no more than 2 click away from another.

Before starting to code I wanted to make sure that I was not reinventing the wheel. This should not be difficult to do as all the information is readily available.

Thank you.

there are various sitemap modules available, that generate its content from the same source (tabs table), like the sitemap.ascx and the menu.

Hi

Now the site map is XML couldn't it just be tranformed into a usable format using XSL?

You are right, thank you.

The one that I found that seems to be closer to what I want to do is the FST Site Map (http://www.snowcovered.com/snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=5949) and you can't beat the price. I still have to test it... Does anyone worked with it?

The other one is the DNN Sitemap (http://www.snowcovered.com/snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=4086) but I would have to purchase the code version and custumize it...

Thank you all for your help.

I've tried this route, but to no effect. After using the xml/xsl module and creating the styles for display all I got was a blank module. I'm on my way to snowcovered rather than back to the drawing board...can't beat $7.50 =)
