Hi to DNN community!

I have one thing that interest me. It is about username. So, in user profile we have 2 similar fields: User Name and Display Name. User Name is for login and display forum posts. Display name appears on a site next to logout ([USER] skin object) and it can be changed.

My question is why User Name field can't be changed when there is also user ID that track user. Or maybe it can be changed somehow?

Thanks, Ivan

I believe that the username can't be changed is due to ensure that no conflicts occur in the underlying membership tables.

Thanks Mitchel for your answer!

I tested it know and if I change user name in database, after attempt to log in "Object not set..." error message appears. Very strange, I thought that it somehow can be changed.
