I can easily hide a module from a non-registered user. But I would like to show some introductory content to all new visitors and then hide this content when users login. How can this be done?

jesstrev,

I believe the "unauthenticated users" role will get you what you need --  if you go to the module settings and select only "unauthenticated users" (after unchecking "inherit view permissions from page") the only roles that should be able to see the content are those who are not logged in, admin, and host.

hope that helps,

Ian

As mentioned above, setting view permissions for unauthenticated will work.  Or if you are just dealing with text you could use my "Text/HTML Deniable" module which allows you to set explicit deny permissions.  The only difference is how you intrepret the settings.
