New install of DNN 4.5.3  with MS SQL 2005 and .NET 2.  Windows authentication is enabled and auto login is working for domain users.  What I am seeing is very strange.  Any change I make to the website content will sometimes not show up for several minutes.  Even some direct changes via the database tables will require that i "take a break "  then come back to view the changes.

Examples:
Adding a page at any level.
Delete a module from a page.
Delete a Page, or even change it's attribute in the DB table.
Change a module container settings
Change settings in Admin or Host control panel.

Host performance settings:
Page State Persistence:  Memory
Module Caching Method:  Memory
Performance Setting:  Light Caching
Authenticated Cacheability:  ServerAndNoCache
Compression Setting:  None
Use Whitespace Filter:  None

Any ideas, and suggestions are greatly appreciated cause I am stumped!
Thanks in advance.

These symptoms indicate you are probably trying to run DotNetNuke in a web garden which is not supported.

Thank you John...
For anyone interested I believe it was a combination of things.

1) A web garden was enabled on my server.  Strange because I have a DNN 3.x server also with a web garden and have had no issues.
2) I had 2 EventQueue.ProcessMessage: Message Processing Failed messages which had not cleared correctly.  If there is any input on why this occurred please let me know.   LINK

Anyway everything is now configured correctly and the performance is screaming fast.  Kudos to the DNN community.

What is the advantage of setting page state persistence to memory?

I recommend against setting the page persistence to memory.

It may save some bandwidth on some pages with large amounts of viewstate (pages with grids, etc.), but as a global setting it does more harm than good.

You can really run your servers memory consumption up fast with this setting and that in turn may cause your application to recycle because of a memory threshold, which in turn would loose the viewstate for all those pages and cause the end user to wait while the application recycles.
