In the admin menu select the "Security Roles" option. This page will list all the roles.

Click on the pencil icon to edit the Subscriber role.

At the edit page check the "Auto Assignment" checkbox and save the record.

In this way, your new registered users will be automatically assigned to the Subscriber role.

Right great, but the "subcribers role" is being added to all new registrations.  I have just checked that and the subscribers role is not checked, only the public role checkbox is checked.

thanks

Log in as host and go to the HOST > SQL page.

Run this query, it should return one row, make sure it returns ONLY 1 row.

SELECT * FROM ROLES WHERE RoleName = 'Subscribers';

Now run this query, if more than 1 row was returned for the first one AND you want to turn off autoassignment for BOTH the go ahead and run this:

UPDATE ROLES
Set AutoAssignment = False
Where RoleName = 'Subscribers';
