My company has the needs to get the web stat report on every page of the company site using Webtrends. We have 2 portals containing more than 500 pages (runing on DNN 4.3.4).

In order to track every page, I have to add the Webtrends Java script on every single page using the text/html module.  I think about taking a shortcut by manually adding a text/htm module to a page; then add records to tabModules table to link this moduleid to every page. Do you think it is possible to do this? if yes, is there any potential problem in using this shortcut?

Also, do you see any potential performance problem in adding the webTrends script (about 12k) to every page (about 300 each site)?

I would greatly appreciate your insight on this matter.

Thanks

Have you considered adding it to Default.aspx or to the skins that are being used?

John,

That's a great idea. Have you tried it or heard anyone have  it done that way? I will try it now and I won't see the result until tomorrow.

Do you think adding the script  would affect the site performance?

Yes, I have seen it done this way many times for Google Analytics.

It won't affect the site performance as much as adding a module on every page.  If it is a javascript call it'll just be an extra "behind the scenes"  call to the server, so you won't even notice it.
