This is a funny bug that has now happened to me twice. I have one DNN 4.5.3 portal with a dozen sub portals, upgraded regularly and without error since version 4.03.

This is what happens:

  • The FCK editor vanishes, leaving only the plain text box with the text/raw/html options.
  • It only does this for one host account - the one I normally use.
  • All other accounts lncluding other host accounts all continue to see the FCK editor as normal.
  • It only vanishes in one subportal, the faulty account sees the editor just fine in all other portals.
  • This has happened twice now and on a different sub portal each time.
  • There are no errors reported.
  • It never happened prior to version 4.5.1 and I have solely used FCK in the portals for 2 years now without trouble.

I have tried various things such as removing and resetting FCK custom options, but the only way I can fix it is to delete the flawed host account and recreate it again. This isn't really fixing it however and makes me think it might not be directly related to the editor, but instead be an issue with the recent DNN releases.

That about covers it. Any ideas anyone?

Regards,
Rob
