Hi

This is a very good question in one way or the other. This reply probably will not be much use to you but i also would like users to have profile images. Now, whilst it is perfectly easy to customise the profile properties i cannot seem to find out how to add images. So i think at the present it must be assumed that the profile system in DNN doesnt support images yet.

Maybe that would be a suggestion for future enhancments

Yep...I don't see any way to natively add images either.  There are a couple of third party modules that may help  (DNNFusion MyProfile, Smart Thinker UserGroups) but nothing native.  I would love to be proven wrong here!  It seems like this is something that really needs to be in the core!

There was recently a good discussion about this in the forums project discussion area. The general concensus seems to be that this is a hot issue and that it probably needs to be part of the core framework. i.e. user profiles like DNNFusion that can have images, etc. that can be accessed from all other modules such as the forums module - click on a user name in forums and you see their profile.

Yes, this is sorely needed in the core. The Smart-Thinker UserProfile module is a templated view on the core data, but due to the lack of the image type it has it's own image upload ability - as soon as the core gets this it will be a templated view only with no edit capabilities.

Out of interest, if you use Ventrian's News Articles or the core Forums (or Active Forums) - I blogged about integrating the profile pic with these modules.

For example: News article integration, Forum profile pic integration (click on my name).
