I want to keep users and their ability to log-in. I will register for them, but I want the link to registration disabled/removed.

On the Admin > Site Settings page go to Advanced Settings section.

Set the User Registration setting to Private. This will remove the Register link but the Login link will still be there.  See the Online Help for more info on these settings.

I have done this on 4.5.3 but the register button remains on the account login module.  The only way I can remove it through site settings is to set registration to none.  Anyone want to clarify why Lorraine keeps saying that private will do the same thing?

Thanks,

Paul

Sorry about the misinformation!

Rereading your post I actually cannot work out what the question is now. Guess you have figured it out yourself by setting Registration to none.
