Hi,

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere or I'm missing something obvious, maybe my mother drank when I was in the womb.
I've got a win2003 server box called STSERVER on my LAN. I've put on a DNN installation, ST, which immdiately thought of itslef as http://localhost/st. I added an alias so on my LAN I can get to it at http://stserver/st

So far so good.

My router supports Dyanic DNS and I've configured it with dyndns.org to http;//danielcooper.dydns.org. If you hit that URL you'll get the IIS Under Construction page.

All smiles so far.

Some of you probably know what I'm going to say next, which is that, having added a danielcooper.dydns.org/st alias, when I hit the site it tries to redirect to localhost.

So what's up with that?

Cheers,

Dan

P.S: I'm guessing that I have to do something with IIS, but I'm not quite sure what that is. FYI I'm not running a DNS server on the box.

I am not 100% sure on this but from what I was reading on a post that was entered after this one, you will need to add the portal alias of http://www.danielcooper.dydns.org to the portal.  That should stop if from forwarding to the localhost address.

Yes, did that and it didn't work. Eventually I added the name to the host header files in IIS and that seems to have fixed it.
