Hey everyone,

I'm in need of some major help, as we're facing a DotNetNuke crisis at my place of employment.  Over the last several weeks, my supervisor and myself have put several hundred hours into the research, design, and development of a new corporate portal.  Yesterday, she was working on our site and was met by an unexpected error message...

"Server Error in '/' Application.

The stored procedure 'dbo.GetPortalTabModules' doesn't exist.
Description: An unhandled exception occured during the execution of the current web request.  Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

...."

And with that, poof!  The site that we once were able to visit through a local IP address was no longer accessible.  We tried to do some troubleshooting, but as it was near the end of the workday, didn't make much progress.  Before I left the office, I made a copy of our "Inetpub" and "DotNetNuke" folders, to have just in case...

When I arrived to the office this morning, I typed our IP address into the Internet browser and was surprised to see no error message.  Unfortunately, what saw was a "bare bones", default DotNetNuke site - my supervisor had decided to do a fresh install of DNN.  While this solved one problem (the Server error), I believe it may have caused another.  Is it possible for us to somehow copy the necessary files from the InetPub and DotNetNuke folders that I backed-up to restore our site?  The thought of countless hours of work gone and an end-of-the month deadline looming make me sick to my stomach.  PLEASE tell me our site can be saved and we don't have to start ALL over from scratch...

Thanks for the help.

How did you initially set up DotNetNuke? Did you set up the database yourself, or did you just use the default settings and have it create a Database.mdf?

DotNetNuke was initially set up using the default settings to create a Database.mdf.

Hi

This might help, search the Venexus blog, for an article entitled "Moving DotNetNuke to Production"

The title might be misleading, but they take you through certain steps which you may find usefull.

If you can't find the article let me know, I have a copy of it that I've saved for just such an emergency.

Regards

Julian
