Hello,

I have recently upgraded to DNN 4.5.5 (from 4.5.1). Just perfect.
But in the past, I used to type http://mydomain.com/Login.aspx to login and the same to logout (in fact, when logged in, the page displayed contains the user name and option to logout). Now, when doing this, I am redirected on the HOME page... Why ???

For information, I do not have the hyperlink/text "login/logout" displayed on the page, to avoid people trying to login to the site (I had several in the past, now that I have removed it, it is much better).

to my knowledge there never was a /login.aspx file in dnn 3 or 4. Maybe you had a special friendly url defined? Maybe you should verify the old web.config file.

Anyhow, you can logon by using this url: http://mydomain.com/?ctl=login and you can logout using this one: http://mydomain.com/Admin/Security/Logoff.aspx

This is a new logic for Login process. There are several issues with it and it's been logged into Gemini. Besides the behavior you've observed, there is also another issue that is discussed here http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/148363/scope/posts/Default.aspx

While the second issue has no relevance to your scenario, the solution offered would help your problem, as it really deals with the whole thing.

NOTE: that solution was offered for 4.5.2 and 3 I am not sure if it still works in 4.5.5 - please test first.

I will investigate the solution for DNN 4.5.5, but the solution provide by Erik gives also full satisfaction. I am not sure that I will test your solution, nevertheless I am interested, if I have time I will check.

I know this doesn't fix the logout problem, but if you got to the site using a different browser it will work.  As for correcting the problem, I have no idea.
