Friends -

A rookie with a big problem with a recent install of DNN 4.05.05 -

when I build and open in dev server (ctrl + F5) site comes up fine; when attempt to browse it with external browser (ie) website won't load.

IIS set at virtual dir, application, permissions on file dir okay, have checked that several times... I can load a simple " test.aspx" page sucessfully that is in the same folder - so I think that part is setup correctly ;

seems the default.aspx for the dnn site is found and begins to load but then a later page that is referenced is not found and get error 404. I wonder about paths withing the dev server vs those seen by IIS.

 Any help appreciated!

Figured it out, posting for reference for others:

Problem was PortalAlias table had the original localhost information; found the pinned FAQ: Moving a DNN installation thread in Install it to describe the solution and the blog www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/189/Default.aspx helpfull.
