To fix it you can remove the & "?base" portion of the navigate url in the /Admin/Skins/Logo.ascx.vb file

I get no errors on 4.5.3 (nothing special except for ventrian's Friendly URLs)

DV: the error is linked with MLLanguageSelector, as the "corrupt" querystring parameter (a var name without a value), causes an error in the url building functionality of MLLanguageSelector. That is the error you see. You will btw only see the error if you use the module version, the skinobject version reports the error in a silent way (still visible in the eventlog though). The patch will handle "corrupt" urls correctly.

I did send out a patch notification through the snowcovered site, maybe that mail was cought as spam somewhere. Please contact snowcovered support if you do not receive any mail from them

Since you have acsess to source control, how about doing us a favor and find out who made that change, and asking them why.
