cache
hello,
The cache settings are not very clear to me.

the are two confusing options which i don't completely understand:

1) in the advanced host settings>performance, there is a definition of "module caching method" with two possibilities : memory and disk.
2) in the web.config file you can choose between FileBasedCachingProvider and BroadcastPollingCachingProvider. for my understanding, the first manages the cache in the file system and the second in the database.

what is the difference between option 1 and 2 ?
i've noticed that if you change the performance settings, the web.config doesn't change, thus, those are two different settings...(?)

[maybe the answer is that the second option related only to "EnableCachePersistence" definition ? ]

can you please help with this issue?

also what is exactly saved in the portal cache folder??

10X very much!

dnn newbie.
