on my dnn portal?

I think this retrieves the parsed words that are indexed for the search.

What I want is the words that users have searched my portal.

Are these words stored somewhere?

Yes, the searchword table only contains the parsed words . For complete search words/phrases, we use another way to store it.

Create another table,    
     Id / PortalId/Word/SearchCount
Modify the search.ascx.vb, add search word in new table when user click search.

Of course, it not recommend because modify the core.
