When an Admin clicks Update on the Page Management page to create a new page they receive a javascript error :"WebForm_PostBackOptions is undefined". This is because the AXD file that contains the PostBackOptions function is not being loaded. This file however is loaded if you sign on as a Host, so hosts can create pages with  no problems.

After the user clicks the Update button they also lose their DNN login so any button they click after that will take them to the DNN login page. I have installed DNN 4.0.2 on several machines and tested using different machines all resulted in the same error. There has been some postings regarding this error and HTTP compression, however I am not using HTTP compression.

This appears to only be happening on child portals. If you create a parent portal the AXD file gets loaded fine.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Yes!  It just happened to me on a clean install of 4.0.2 on Win2003 Server.   Exactly what you described when I attempted to click UPDATE after Changing the title of the newsfeed module.   This is a big problem.

ditto.  I was actually logging in to report it.  Same scenario.  I need help getting this fixed.  It is certainly a SHOW STOPPER and is causing major issues.

One thing I did not see here is the fact I can go to my laptop and log in and I do not get this error.  Both my desktop and laptop have the same browser version (IE6 SP2) running XP.  I was clicking on Files under common tasks on the control panel when I get the error.  (along with other actions).

I did read about what was written on HTTP compression.  On my browser, I went to Tools>Options>Advanced> and unchecked the Use HTTP 1.1 just for giggles and that seems to fix the issue.  HOWEVER, I cannot go to my customer and ask them to do this.  First of all I cannot explain why they must do this other than "it makes it work".  Sounds really professional....

Hope this helps

We are experiencing the same problem. The HTTP setting did not work any wonders for us. We are currently reproducing on two clientmachines, and have one clientmachine that doesn't repro at all.

All clients are running the same IE version.

Showstopper.
