I am just now noticing that only administrators are allowed to insert images and and files with in the html FCK editor.  I need to open that up to more people.  Is there a way to configure that?

If the user is in the role to edit the module, they should be able to insert image with FCK. By files do you mean links to the file? They should also be able to do that if the role they are in has view rights to the File Manager.

users need write permission for the target folder. In FCKEditor, use "browse server" and upload image, to upload into another folder than the root.

How do I give them view rights to the file manager? Can't figure out how to upload images here.

This is how it looks to a page editor (non-admin):

(no browse)

as an admin role person see it. (browse)

Oh...I think I see now...file manager was allowing only the admin to have write access ot the folders on the site.  Think I got it, now.  you have to be as smart or smarter than the thing you're working with.

To change the permissions for the File Manager log in as an admin and navigate to File Manager. You will see the Security Settings at the bottom of the page. Update the role(s) in question.
